Episode 5
G’day Parks Hervey Bay Tourist Park

Jimeoin takes a detour on his way to Hervey Bay through the historic town of Maryborough. Comedians spend loads of time solo and Waltzing Matilda inspired the name of the show, and he’s been playing the song a lot. He’s reminded of the swagman, and he’s very grateful for the opportunity he’s had. Here we get a glimpse of the simpler life that Jimeoin rarely gets to explore with his busy touring schedule.

Upon arrival into Hervey Bay we are joined by emerging Indigenous comedian Jay Wymarra who will be his travel companion for the next couple of days. An early start sees them setting off to explore the beauty of nearby Fraser Island in a hot pink 4WD on the sandy shores heading to the awe-inspiring Lake McKenzie. A quick pit stop at the local bakery in Eurong to refuel then on to the next adventure — a plane ride over Fraser Island! When they return they ditch the vans Jay and Jimeoin explore the local esplanade on bikes, and then joining an incredible up-close whale watching experience.

With the BBQs sizzling, local musician Frank Benn begins getting the crowd warmed up at that night’s live comedy show where Jay and Jimeoin deliver hilarious acts for the crowd.
